What is cellulite

About 8 out of 10 women have it cellulitis. But what exactly is this imperfection that afflicts the female gender so much? La cellulitis is a modification of the appearance of the skin caused by a subcutaneous fat deposit.

It can occur for a variety of reasons, including water retention, poor nutrition, poor physical activity, poor blood circulation, hormonal dysfunction, and heredity.

The best cellulite therapy is prevention, which requires a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle: no to smoking, alcohol, sedentary lifestyle; yes to constant physical activity. Prevention should begin in adolescence, when cellulite first appears.

Nutrition and cellulite

There is no miraculous diet against cellulite blemishes; there is, however, an adequate diet, which allows to reduce excess fat and, with it, a good percentage of cellulite.
THEnutrition against cellulite must be poor:

  • sodium, in order not to favor water retention;
  • of fats, especially of animal origin;
  • of sugars.

Instead, we must eat a lot seasonal fruit and vegetables, legumes and whole grains.

Furthermore, thefluid intake: it is important to strive to drink at least two liters of water a day. It is also advisable to avoid all sugary drinks with added carbon dioxide.

THEnutrition against cellulite finally, it must aim at detoxifying the organism, therefore it must be rich in those diuretic foods, which help eliminate toxins: pineapple, artichokes, fennel, chicory, cucumbers, watermelon, strawberries, are all excellent examples.

As a fatty condiment, it is advisable to preferolive oil and avoid butter and, in general, all condiments that are too greasy or too elaborate.

Did you know that

We all know that, to combat cellulite, it is necessary to reduce the amount of sodium in the diet, but perhaps we do not all know exactly how to do it; it is not enough, in fact, to slightly salt the dishes. Here, then, are some tips:

  • Limit the consumption of cured meats, sausages, cheeses and all those preserved foods that contain salt;
  • Limit, in general, the consumption of ready meals and packaged foods;
  • Always read carefully the labels of the foods you buy: there are unsuspected foods that contain a lot of sodium, for example different types of breakfast cereals;
  • Enhance the flavor of foods by using crafty seasonings, for example apple vinegar or wine, herbs and spices.
