According to science, couples with greater sexual understanding foster attachment and fidelity. Some studies point out that frequent sex, broadly speaking, it makes couples more stable. The answer, among other things, lies in chemistry.

These studies reveal that frequent sex brings couples more together over a purely chemical matter, due to oxytocin secreted in the brain during arousal and orgasm. A study conducted at the University of Bonn (Germany) showed that this hormone stimulates contact between couples. Thanks to sexual intercourse, it is possible to maintain high levels of oxytocin, enhancing the romantic relationship and strengthening the bonds that favor monogamy.

Not surprisingly, oxytocin is called the hormone of love and attachment. According to some sexologists, evolution has introduced this substance into those dimensions that affect the creation of bonds: in childbirth and breastfeeding, strengthening the connection between mother and children; and in erotic pleasure, fostering the connection between lovers.

According to various surveys carried out in different Western countries, a couple has on average between two and three sexual intercourse per week. The more frequent and satisfying the couple's sexual encounters, the stronger the emotional bond and the commitment to stay together.
