Letter to my future self

Last update: December 23, 2017

I am writing this letter to my future self, because I am experiencing sensations that I would not like to forget over the years. I want my future self, when time has passed and will be enriched with experiences, take up this letter and take some time to stop and reflect. If we don't know where we came from or who we were, how can we know where we are going or what we want?

I just ask him for a break and a little pause to reflect ...

Letter to my future self: I don't want you to forget

Dear me, I don't want you to forget everything that makes you so happy today, that's why I'm writing to you, because in the infinity projection to which this letter points I hope that every day you can go to bed with a smile. Whether it is thanks to the friends you have, the work you do, your social life, the laziness you defeat in order not to stop fighting for what you like, your hobbies, which I hope you have not given up or at least not at all, and if you did I hope it is because you found better things to do.

When you read this letter, the memories you immerse yourself in will certainly be very cheerful. All right, hold them tight, don't let the passing years change the emotion and expression on your face. Take them back and give them new life. My wish is that you, I future, do not lose yourself in bitter temptations and do not become small in the face of difficulties.

I future, in this letter I want to tell you what my dreams are, the aspirations for which I get up and fight hard every day. When you read it, check that you got what you wanted; if not, be intelligent, persevere if strength and conviction still allow it, otherwise stop and treasure what you have learned. Remember that an experience becomes a failure only when we try to eliminate it, rejecting what we can learn from it.

Dear me ...

I don't want to forget everything I feel today and I don't want you to forget it either. May this letter be the key to remembering. I am writing from a happy phase (since fortunately it is not always melancholy that inspires me in writing). Don't forget your tools, everything that got you where you are now, take advantage of your little treasure chest of will, but do not overdo it, because it would mean that you are doing something that does not fill you. Take a deep breath and continue - many of the clouds that obscure the horizon are not real.

Don't forget that projects need time, people need time, work needs time, that it is you who dominate your time and not the other way around, as many believe. Become a master in this and give it a sense, don't let it pass without meaning anything, let time speak, let moments fill the clocks with stories.

In this letter there are the adventures you have lived, what makes you proud of yourself today, but above all what makes you special and different. What makes you unique. My future self, I want it to continue to be like this. And if it's not, if you're not smiling right now, stop and think: what do you want and where are you going? Don't let becoming an adult kidnap the child who is writing part of this letter today.

I want you, my future self ...

I want you, my future self, not to forget your origins, and for this I write. Remember everything behind you. In addition to being grateful, rejoice in those around you and in those who walk the path with you. If at this moment you are remembering someone who was there, but with whom you have lost contact, then call them, thank them for the place they occupy in your memory and in your smile.

In this letter to my future self there is all my essence filled with hopes and desires, there is my desire to continue, my desire not to stop learning. I don't want them to get lost along the way: if they did, you have to find them again, we can't allow the wind to dictate the fate.

I hope that you, my future self, have been able to grow and adapt without losing yourself along the way. I want you to write another letter to my future self, making this proof even stronger that dreams exist and that it is worth fighting to make them come true, imagine them, plan them, live them, even if they don't come true. Alive.
