Passion is the energy that gives wings to dreams

Sometimes monotony and routine put a stop to the "taste of life" and lead us, unwittingly, to extinguish the spark that gives us the joy of living day after day. When we carry out activities with passion, they turn into fuses that light up so that our existence is exciting and makes sense. For example: have you noticed that if you do things with passion, time passes much faster?

Passion is a feeling that is distinguished by its being very intense and deep. It can invade the whole body, paralyzing our thoughts. It generates satisfaction and happiness for that activity we are carrying out. It does not pay attention to time or obligations, but it is born without forcing the activity in which we are engaged. It is as if, at first by surprise, indescribable feelings of happiness and satisfaction invade us.

For example, imagine that boy who, when he plays football, lives it with such intensity that he forgets everything else or that woman who when she gets on the dance floor changes her expression and begins to really have fun. Having a passion for something means embracing one's movement and the sense of it, keeping the intimate desire to repeat those actions that give extreme joy and inner happiness.

Cultivate the motivation to connect with passion

Motivation is a psychological component that allows us to guide, maintain and complete our behaviors. In order for passion to appear, we must first understand what aspects of ourselves are that motivate us and push us to move forward. Motivation will be a key factor in being able to connect with our passion.

Passion is an ingredient that awakens perseverance and motivation. It invites us, as if it were our fuel, to keep our goals and dreams alive, and not to throw in the towel at the first change. Without passion or desire there is no energy to do what we like and we cannot push ourselves to take action. The absence of him makes us slaves to nostalgia.

Normally, we can talk about two types of motivation: the extrinsic one and the intrinsic one. Extrinsic motivation occurs when we practice an activity not for our own direct satisfaction, but to achieve results that bring us a benefit. In this case, there is rarely a real passion in what we do. For example, we talk about all those activities associated with our workplace that we don't like: we do them because they pay us in return.

Intrinsic motivation, on the other hand, appears when we practice an activity simply for the satisfaction of doing it, without expecting something in return beyond what the activity gives us. Furthermore, the possibility of choosing is, in general, one of the secrets that opens the doors of intrinsic motivation: this freedom fuels enthusiasm. It is then that we can take the impulse and feel in control of our will to explore what makes us enjoy the most and makes us happier.

Passion appears when we come into contact with our inner child

Connecting with our passions is not always easy, because as we become adults we also begin to assimilate beliefs that limit us and distance us from our most natural and spontaneous essence. Sometimes we forget about our dreams and desires and dedicate ourselves to a rigid life, letting ourselves be carried away by daily obligations.

Something that can help us get excited is bringing our inner child back to the present, which lives within each of us and for which we are responsible. Do you remember how you were? What did you like or what excited you? For example, maybe you enjoyed playing on the beach and making sand castles or you loved making puzzles and inventing stories.

We need to listen to the child we once were and who still exists in us. This child is able to understand magical moments. We know how to stifle his tears, but we cannot silence his voice.

Add curiosity and interest to what you do, as if it were the first time you are deeply committed to what you like and feel good about. Only in this way will you fight the laziness and hatred that comes from a busy agenda. If you haven't found something you're passionate about yet, then you can follow your curiosity looking for different activities that arouse the emotions we were talking about before.

Learn and nurture your passion every day

Passion can be nurtured and learned if we redeem the attention we dedicate to our duties and commitments. So, if you haven't found something you're passionate about yet, you can follow your curiosity until you can find different activities that make you feel that emotion we were talking about before.

In this rediscovery, you will have to explore your inner world and attend to your deepest needs. Passion gives wings to desires and aspirations. No matter the time you need, you still have time to find those sources of positive emotion that over time have sunk into the straw of your freedom barn. Start giving importance to your dreams, because they are the rudder that can govern and make sense of your life starting now.

I arrived without knowing how. Then I cried for a while and then I lived… without forgetting to cry and learning to laugh. Because laughing is really fun.
