Ignoring one's wounds is a mistake

We all have wounds, but none are alike. Some wounds can be successfully overcome, while others need a little more time to heal. There is not a single characteristic that categorizes them in one group or another, although there are some aspects that are more widespread than others. One of the most common is the attention we pay to the wound itself.

We should have learned by now that ignoring wounds is usually not the best option, since covering the wound as soon as it is opened, just like with physical wounds, only infects it. Sooner or later, the wound surfaces and starts to bleed again. It is true that if we disinfect it at first and leave it uncovered, it will annoy us more, but it is also true that it will heal sooner.

"The injuries don't mean you lost, but that you cared enough to fight."

-Anonymous-

Time will not heal your wounds

The phrase "time heals wounds" is a lie that is often repeated, because in reality time does not cure anything, if you do not first give the necessary care. It is clear that time is a great ally, but only if the wound is closed well.

How do we know if the wound has healed? When you no longer feel the need to blame anything against anyone, when everything has now been discussed and resolved, when you no longer hold any grudges, then the wound is closed. You will know when you are ready to take your time, because you will know that a door has closed.

However, considering time as the ultimate solution that will heal your wounds is not the best thing to do. You have certainly experienced similar episodes in your life, moments in which you have tried to ignore the pain for fear of facing it or thinking that it does not matter. Despite this, we have already seen in the past how ignoring a situation only makes it worse and how then healing is much more difficult than it was at the beginning.

"For a long time I have learned that I can only heal my wounds when I have the courage to face them."

-Paulo Coelho-

When you let the time pass, you just cover the wound with a band-aid so you don't have to see how it bleeds. However, you know that you are bleeding, that you should treat it better. Since she hurts, you try to cover her up in any way, hoping that time will do its job, but this is a serious mistake.

“Heal the wounds and move on; it's not easy, but that's the way ... "

-Paulo Coelho-

You don't have to get distracted, you have to face your pain. Nobody likes to deal with something that hurts, but it's best to do it right away, instead of putting it off and seeing it resurface at the most unexpected moment. Now is the right time. Heal your wounds.

You have to be strong

It is obvious that you have to be strong. Sometimes people say they feel more pain from heart wounds than physical ones. It's normal. Physical pain does not affect emotionally, while sentimental pain does.

You are able to be strong. You are strong enough to resist and not to be carried away by the temptation of distractions and time, because you know that this is not the best solution and that when the pain returns, it will be even worse.

Have they ever told you not to postpone what you can do today until tomorrow? Well, that's also true in these cases. If you can close that door today, do it. Do not postpone until tomorrow for fear of "who knows ..." or "but maybe ..."

“It is always said that time heals all wounds. I do not agree. The wounds remain; over time, the mind, to protect itself, heals them and the pain decreases, but they never go away ”.

-Rose Kennedy-

In these cases, there is no room for guesswork. It is clear that there is always hope and that is why it is so difficult to get away from the trap of time and distractions. But does it serve any purpose? In the end, you already know how the matter will be resolved.

It is important to get away from anything that prevents you from sitting up and dealing with your wounds. Every time you look at them, you will feel pain, every time you think about it, you will suffer. However, don't worry. Be strong and hold on. The pain will be much shorter if you face it now and if you don't postpone it. The time has come to close your wounds.
