The tiredness, the lack of stimulation and enthusiasm, the sense of homologation are reflected in most of the faces we see in the shops, offices or places we go to every day. However, the worst discovery is to look in the mirror and realize that our face also bears the signs of that same sad feeling.



Usually, when we realize we are unhappy, the first thing we want to do is go from one extreme to the other and completely change our life. Which path should we follow?

1. Identify the cause of your unhappiness

Unhappiness is a feeling that arises when we are not where we want to be. That is to say, when we are aware that we would like to do something else, share our life with other people or simply chase our dreams. This awareness breeds unhappiness. Identifying the cause will allow you to take a first step: make the decision to change, to get to what you want.

2. Define what you want

Now that you know that what you have doesn't make you happy, think: what would it do instead? Answering this question can take a lot of time, cause doubts, and give you the feeling that it would be much easier to continue living as you have done up to now. Of course it is easier not to change, but before throwing in the towel think it's worth it be happy or if you really want to be content with what you have.



3. Turn your goals into an action plan

When you know what can make you truly happy, the time has come come up with a plan. For example, if you don't like your job and want to open your own business, the best thing is not to quit your job right away, but you can keep working hours and concentrate on planning your business during your free time. It is about being happy, not about putting your life or well-being at risk.


4. Pursue one goal at a time

Getting where you are now was the fruit of a gradual process; the changes that will make you happy, therefore, must also be gradual. You must give yourself time to change one aspect of your life at a time, and enjoy the happiness that this will bring. If you don't, chances are you'll end up hurting someone with your words or causing serious problems in your relationship or with friends.


Unhappiness does not come or go by itself

Every decision we make affects our life and how we feel about it. For this reason, be happy or unhappy it depends only on us and our determination to live as we really want or to change direction when necessary.
