The Way of the Warrior of Peace

Dan Millman - The Way of the Peace Warrior.

The Way of the Warrior of Peace

“Death is not a sad thing. The sad thing is that many people don't live at all ”.

Socrates.

Author's Note: I have always considered books to be the best tools for personal growth, which is why I decided to create a monthly column entitled: the book of the month.

Each month I will offer you a review of a book that fascinated me and helped improve my life. Probably I will not be able to respect this purpose every month, because unfortunately (or fortunately) the books that really manage to get inside are not so many; but I will do my best to present you with a book that you truly deserve every time.

I am pleased to start this new column with a book by Dan Millman entitled Peaceful Warrior.

The author

Dan Millman is a former professional gymnast who has earned multiple awards worldwide, a college professor and martial arts teacher, who has been able to inspire millions of readers with his books. In addition to the best-seller "The Way of the Warrior of Peace", he wrote "The travels of Socrates" and "The sacred journey of the warrior of peace".

The plot

“In early December 1966, during my first year at the University of California at Berkley, an extraordinary series of events occurred in my life. It all started at XNUMX:XNUMX in the morning, when I first met Socrates in an all-night gas station (he hadn't told me his real name, but after the moments spent with him during that first night I gave him impulse the name of the ancient Greek sage; he liked the name and remained so). That chance encounter, and the adventures that followed, were destined to transform my life. "

The Way of the Warrior of Peace is the story of a journey to hell and back, a story of fall and rebirth, a story that could be your story.

Why you should read it

I came to know this book by the wrong way (ah ... the wonderful coincidences of life!).

I often take a look at the latest movie trailers that come out in the US and that are posted on the Apple website: it was here that for the first time I heard about the “Peaceful Warrior". The trailer of the film struck me immediately, but a few months later I discovered, to my great regret, that it would never be shown in Spanish theaters: if ever the average Spaniard could get excited about a film other than Christmas Holidays !

No problem, the internet offers ample opportunities to see the film, perhaps even subtitled in Spanish.

Intrigued by the story, I also decided to read the book that inspired the film: bingo! As the subtitle mentions, The Way of the Peace Warrior is truly a life-changing book.
