What is cocoa

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao) is a plant belonging to the Sterculiace family. The cacao it was imported to Europe from America by Christopher Columbus.

Cocoa is obtained from the seeds of the fruits of the cocoa tree by the process of fermentation, roasting or grinding.

 

Properties and benefits of cocoa

A recipe up your sleeve

Cocoa and coconut cake.
Ingredients: 4 eggs, 200 grams of coconut flour, 50 grams of bitter cocoa, 50 grams of vegetable margarine, 5 tablespoons of milk, 120 grams of brown sugar, three tablespoons of frumina, a sachet of cream of tartar with bicarbonate.

Procedure: with an electric mixer, whip the egg yolks, the softened margarine and the sugar. Add coconut, cocoa and milk. Finally the whipped egg whites and then the cream of tartar. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes.
